In general, to cover the windows and doors we have 3 options. The first option is blinds, and blinds usually is made of very hard materials such as wood, vinyl(also called PVC), aluminum. The second option are shades, and shades is usually made of soft materials or fabrics. The last options is curtain and custom draperies and I am not going to talk about in this post.

In general, all the blinds made to give you some privacy and also block the lights, but the amount of energy efficiency they have and the amount that they block the light based on the blinds is different.
